In Canada, STFs are the third largest contributor to workplace lost time incidents however the concern should not merely be focused on just worker injuries. Business owners and employers must also consider the potential business liability. Workplaces that have patrons or the general public present in their organizations must also consider their safety as well. Nonetheless, applying basic precautions are not only easy and cost effective, can reduce the risk of slip, trip or fall related injuries. Supervisor Safety

Confined Spaces

Each worker who is required to enter into a confined space must receive training in the hazards related to the confined space. This program is developed around the Ministry of Labour Guidelines, were participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of the legal requirements necessary to carry on work in a confined space
  • Be able to identify confined spaces, assess hazards and implement controls to allow work to be carried out in a safe manner
  • Become familiar with terminology associated with confined spaces and the hazards
  • Become familiar with the hazards associated with Carbon Monoxide and the tools available for monitoring atmospheres in confined spaces
